(1) Tonbridge to Peterborough
On Saturday 12th May 2012 Hastings Diesels operated
the Nene Machine
excursion from Hastings to Peterborough and the Nene Valley Railway.
The train was well patronised with a routing calling at St Leonards Warrior Square, Battle, Etchingham, Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge, Bromley South thence Catford Loop to Kensington Olympia. From Kensington Olympia the train ran via Gospel Oak to the East Coast Main Line and straight up to a passenger stop at Peterborough (rev). From Peterborough the train ran to Fletton Junction and the Nene Valley Railway.
What was unacceptable was the abuse given to both HDL and NVR staff from a minority with cameras at Peterborough station. These were not HDL passengers. The railway will not tolerate abuse of staff from idiots such as these and; these idiots could put the ability to undertake photography at stations at serious risk.
